A unique entity in Texas swimming, the Alamo Area Aquatics Association, or AAAA, was established in 1977 to serve as an organizational and administrative umbrella for multiple programs. Each location is in some way affiliated with a school or university. AAAA is a year around competitive aquatics program offering high-quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The club has some 1,300 registered swimmers/athletes training and competing in numerous separate facilities. AAAA has produced 10 Olympic athletes representing five different countries in three different aquatic sports.
Our mission is to inspire and develop young athletes in San Antonio to reach their highest potential in water polo and beyond. Through disciplined training, teamwork, and character-building experiences, we empower each participant to grow in confidence, self-respect, and resilience—on and off the deck. Equally important is our commitment to fostering a spirit of community, service, and pride in representing our city.
Originally from San Diego, Coach Steph started playing water polo at 13 and was a varsity athlete in both swim and water polo, setting three CIF records her senior year. She played at Sonoma State before earning a marketing degree and culinary certification. Passionate about health and developing well-rounded athletes, she previously coached at Del Mar WPC (2021–2023) before relocating to Bulverde with her family. Outside the pool, she enjoys raising her three boys, playing Masters polo, and caring for her backyard chickens and donkeys.
Coach Scott has over 20 years of coaching experience and a decorated career in swimming and water polo. He led successful programs at Judson and Reagan High Schools, earning 7x District and 1x Regional Coach of the Year honors. His teams produced over 50 All-State athletes and multiple All-Americans. A former college athlete himself, Scott now teaches AP and Philosophy courses at Reagan. He returned to coaching in 2021 to help grow AAAA Water Polo and is also an active referee and educator in the sport.
A standout player from San Diego’s Scripps Ranch High School and Shores WPC, Carson earned multiple MVP and All-League honors. Collegiately, he played at the U.S. Naval Academy, UC San Diego, and San Diego Miramar, where he led the nation in scoring in 2021 and earned All-American recognition. Specializing as a 2-meter player, Carson brings three years of coaching experience and a deep understanding of high-level competitive play.
Coach Stephie brings a well-rounded background in playing, officiating, and coaching water polo. Known for her connection with players and team-building skills, she focuses on fundamentals, game strategy, and fostering a positive team culture. Her goal is to inspire the next generation of athletes with enthusiasm and strong technical development.
